Can I use the CA-RX stand alone or I need the CA 360 always?
It can be used as a stand alone alert with the various Central Alert transmitters.

Can this be mounted on a wall in, e.g., the bathroom or my office/den in my home? Or, where do most users tend to place this unit so they can see when the light flashes without it being in their way? I would probably want to leave one unit in each room where I want to be alerted.
Many of our customers usually place the HC-CARX on a nightstand, dresser, or a shelf next to their bed. If you purchase a shelf or monitor mount that can hold a 3.75" x 4.5" x 1" screen, you should be able to place it against the wall. It doesn't come with mounting equipment, so most people place it on furniture and surfaces available in the room.

What is the return policy for this product? And does it come with an accessory shaker to put under the bed, that connects to this? (Or do you have the buy the whole "notification system", which I don't need as I already have a shaking alarm clock)
We have a 30 day free return policy, this item does not include a shaker and is part of a whole home alerting system so it would need the other components to function.

Unique and Helpful System

This is the only system of it's type, that I've been able to find: one that monitors the home environment and provides visual and "bed-shaker" notifications of movements and sounds. There is a bigger receiver available, which has a time display (and alarm clock functions, I think), but this one has all you need for a notification system. The sensitivity of the various sensors (vibration, sound and movement) is adjustable and easily picks up the smallest signals that you would want to be aware of. The sensors are small, low-profile and battery-powered, so they can easily be hidden or un-noticeable. The receiver can operate on batteries too, during power outages. One of the sensors has a jack for other sensors (say from another vendor, or one that's home-made by a friendly hobbyist). This makes the system rather versatile. Operation is simple and intuitive. Reliability has been good. Finally, the "bed-shaker" electrical output can be harnessed (with some simple electronics) to trigger ANOTHER notification system, say big lights or a sound generator. So this little receiver can be your friend and protector, AND/OR it can be the heart of a quite-sophisticated system.

I have this at my office as well as home. It is a wonderful product which helps create the sense of equality by this accommodation.
At home you can press Reset button on the Remote Receiver to turn off the light flashing and the flashing/vibrating with clock upstairs as well. I had another product I did not like because I had to turn off the Remote Receiver downstairs and had to run upstairs to turn off the clock but the Serene kit is wonderful!
I strongly recommend this as part of the clock kit.

Wish I had thought of getting this sooner. It seems a bit flimsy but does the job and makes me feel more secure.
I've now ordered the doorbell attachment.

I like the flashing strobes rather than the old system we had to plug a lamp into and use the lamp for flashing. I do wish the type of alert was showing up in the big display box instead of just the little icon though.
